Psalm of the Day–Psalm 38

Psa 38:1

A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance. O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

Psa 38:2

For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.

Psa 38:3

There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.

Psa 38:4

For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.

Psa 38:5

My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness.

Psa 38:6

I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.

Psa 38:7

For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh.

Psa 38:8

I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.

Psa 38:9

Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.

Psa 38:10

My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.

Psa 38:11

My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off.

Psa 38:12

They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.

Psa 38:13

But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.

Psa 38:14

Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.

Psa 38:15

For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.

Psa 38:16

For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.

Psa 38:17

For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.

Psa 38:18

For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.

Psa 38:19

But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.

Psa 38:20

They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is.

Psa 38:21

Forsake me not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from me.

Psa 38:22

Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.

Psalm of the Day–Psalm 24

Psa 24:1

A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

Psa 24:2

For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

Psa 24:3

Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?

Psa 24:4

He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

Psa 24:5

He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Psa 24:6

This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.

Psa 24:7

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

Psa 24:8

Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

Psa 24:9

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

Psa 24:10

Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

Psalm of the Day–Psalm 23

Psa 23:1

A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Psa 23:2

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

Psa 23:3

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Psa 23:4

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Psa 23:5

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Psa 23:6

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

What Is Your Vision For Your Family Being Incorporated In The Church?

written by Pastor Jim Fryer, Independent Bible Baptist Church, Pittsburg, KS

Incorporating your family in the church begins with making sure that they are saved (Christians), and not running amuck in their spiritual life.   That means getting them here for every service to learn the procedure and the people of the church.

Getting them here for every service is probably the most important part of incorporating your child into the ministry of the local church.  In Sunday School they learn how to study the Bible, including the books of the Bible, and making friends who are their age.  In church they learn songs and hear lessons or messages that can and will change their lives.  Becoming incorporated into the different ministries of the church is of vital importance for young people, while learning vast knowledge of how to get along with others and learning the lessons that will make them capable to handle marriage, jobs, and life as a whole.

This is how important the church can be to a family who is struggling spiritually.  God has given you a great church here and a balanced Pastor who listens to problems and will give you the hard facts about what the Bible says for you to do about your problems.

Speak positively about the church, its members and its leaders including Sunday School teachers, Pastor, and even Wednesday night leaders.  It is important that your child does not see church as a “one hour a week” place to attend and “if I have time I’ll go” attitude.  God is more important.  You want to find your children able to make it in this society that we live in, you will not find refuge in the government, the school, the workd place, monetary value, but you will find it in the Lord Jesus, His church, and His Word.

Make these five things the greatest achievements that you or your family (wife included), can do:

Church attendance

Bible reading

Praying (individual and family)

Giving to the local assembly (gathering)

Witnessing (individual or corporately)

If you will come to church as a family, read the Bible as a family, pray as a family, give as a family, and witness in life, word, and deed as a family, God will bless the family.  Your children will be the second generation of Bible believing Christians that will give you grand children that are Bible believing and great grandchildren taht are Bible Believers.

Look Up

I was looking through the news sites tonight–not the big ones, but the ones that are more..independent… and have to say, it’s just like reading through the events of Ezekiel, Daniel, and Revelations and so on.

At Watch4Him, the headlines include even more earthquakes, which seem like a multiple a day occurance.  One article links to how JP Morgan is cancelling vacations to prepare for yet another economic meltdown similar to 2008.   Another article links to a site speaking of how China is threatening war in Syria.  There are articles about human barcodes (something easily turned into the mark of Revelations), the worsening global economies, wars and rumors of wars, Israel, the heavens, the rumblings on the earth, etc.

You will find similar at Rapture Ready , which starts with the news of the number of worldly Christians is on the rise.  Sad, isn’t it…how more Christians take on the name but not the life of living for Him?  Then we find about Bilderberg being more than conspiracy theory.  Listen to World View Weekend with Brannon Howse from time to time (on the VCY America networks) and you’ll hear about the Bilderberg mess.   Keep reading and you’ll find more and more news items that you won’t find on Fox, CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, or any of the other networks.

Keeping an eye to the news and the world around us helps you see that our time on earth really is nearing an end.  In the day of “Dance Moms” (heard a commercial for them this morning on the radio as I was driving around town, almost vomited from listening to the prideful, materialistic woman who has her daughter in this drama queen show),  “American Idol”, and all these other shows promoting extremely worldly values, we don’t tend to look beyond what is superficial.  In doing this, we miss what’s deep down.  God is showing us that we are going to be called home very soon.  He is giving us the signs in the heavens, on earth, below the earth, in our world systems, governments, etc.  Choosing to drown it out with frivolous and mindless musings don’t change the fact….

Our redemption draweth nigh.

Look up folks–Jesus is coming!
