Spring arrived here in SE KS a long while before the calendar said it was time. We’ve had 80 degree temps, a few spring storms, and have had to mow the yard two or three times now.
Part of the weather changing is the emergence of our garden toads. 🙂 We found this little guy hiding amongst the dragon’s breath sedum.
This was taken a week ago, and this clump has grown by 1/3 of what it was. The lilies beside it have taken off, and the volunteer sunflower near it has grown tremendously. The tire is a home for seeds of oregano, which haven’t popped up yet.
This rose is on it’s second bloom since Valentine’s Day! It’s loving the spring weather!
As of today, it has 9 new buds on it, and has expanded another few inches!
Hubby’s lettuce has started sprouting, as have the sunflowers (purposefully planted, not the volunteers), spearmint, and I think I saw a single seedling of sweet basil. Hubby has planted tomatoes and brussel sprouts, and they’re doing nicely–one tomato plant has a little yellow bloom already!
I love this time of year, when the Lord lets things turn green and blossom, when the weather warms up and I can take the kids outside and enjoy the fresh air!
What are your plans for this spring?
